I already wrote about meeting Tove at the party last night, so I will pick up at 6 am today when I went down to the hotel where they were staying. They were set to leave at 7 am so I wasn't sure when everything would get started. I was there as most of the drivers came out and messed with the cars and such. I talked with a few of them about their experiences so far on the trip, and they said the trip from Chicago to KC was nasty. I looked around his car, I love that he is driving this super expensive car and when I peeked into it, there was a half empty bag of Cool Ranch Doritos smashed between the drivers seat and the arm console! So I have now decided that Cool Ranch Doritos are the official food of hay_ew!;)
It was almost 7, and I was in a place where I could see his car but it was the only one with NO ONE packing it or messing with it. I began to fear maybe they would spirit the car away so he could get in it without being noticed. Just as I was thinking this, a tall handsome young man walks out of the hotel door and toward the car. I could feel the smile creep across my face. I must take a break right now to tell you a fact that sums up our wonderful boy. Most of the drivers, famous or not, were having the crew or the hotel staff load their luggage and what not. Even if they only had a bag or two, they made someone else pack it. When Hayden came out the door, he was loaded with all his own bags and gear. I just thought that spoke volumes. He was no doubt the biggest star in the KC part of the race and he didn't act like it for one second! anyway, I waited to approach because the small band of fangirls gathered ran up to him and I wanted the amateurs out of the way;) I went to him and introduced myself (and yes, I used my REAL name, I did NOT introduce myself as sith wench *snerk*) I asked for an autograph and if I could get a pic with his car. He was VERY sweet and accomodating.
I then told him I knew Jen from DH.net, and since she is doing the official Christensen website for the race he knows her too. He said she was very nice and then asked if I knew if she would be in LA as well. A group of girls came up to talk to him so I thanked him and asked if I could take a few more candids that I could then share with the website Jen is running and he said sure. Well after a few minutes the girls left and he and I and one of his crew were just chatting and then the crew guy left. *gulp* I was alone talking with Hayden freaking Christensen!
We talked about his car and the race in general, he said it was a bit rough so far but fun. I said I had met Tove the night before at the party and he said he was just too tired to go.
I told him we had all heard about his big landscaping job this summer and he laughed and said he needed to get back to it after the race and he laughed.
I then asked if he knew about what project would be next for him. he said he was hoping to know very soon. I asked if he knew when Awake might be out and he laughed again and said he didn't know either. The drivers were getting in their cars and I didn't wanna overstay my awesome welcome so I wished him luck on the race and his career and told him how much I enjoyed RotS. He thanked me and then joked that he needed to keep an eye on the clock and find a "washroom" (how cute) befoe the trip started *heh* I thanked him for his time and he said it was very nice to meet me (he is so polite!) *dies* and then he HUGGED ME...a full hug moment!
He went back to the hotel and I went to my car just squeeing and trying to capture it all in my head for EVER!:) thank god for the pictures, they help freeze the memory! It was a once in a lifetime experience (and I mean that, this is Kansas City, when will Hayden ever come here except for a cross country race???)*heh* and I am SO lucky I was able to work it out to meet him. He was everything I imagined and more. It is great to be a fan of such a nice and unaffected guy.
