He even had the nerve to ask her to stay and talk to him while she takes everything all in and act like everything is okay. When Scott walks in while Daisy is reading one of Shelby's letters and questions her about Shelby, she decides to show him all the letters Shelby had sent her so he could find out himself. After reading the horrifying letters Scott barges into Peters office demanding that he do something about Shelby's situation. Peter tells Scott that it is not in his power to do so. Scott walks away obviously upset that he couldn't do anything to help Shelby. Upset about the whole situation, Daisy comforts Scott by telling him to pray for Shelby and hope the best for her. Shelby continues to write letters to Daisy while dreading the life at home. In the letters Shelby tells Daisy how it feels weird for her to even walk into her own room and how she feels that her sister is a little mad at her for leaving. Auggie tries to end his relationship with Jules because he feels they're from two worlds. Jules comes to the rescue and reassures him that their relationship is for real and that she wouldn't have it any other way. Auggie feels relieved at her response and smiles. She tells him how he took everything away from her and made her runaway from her own home. As she spills her guts about these things, her sister Jess stands behind the wall and tells her how much she hated her stepfather as well. Shelby surprised by the response runs after her sister and questions if their stepfather had done the same thing to her. Jess breaks down and reveals that she was also sexually abused by their stepfather. Shelby tells Jess not to worry because she knows how it feels because it happened to her first.
