After she asked, ?Would you save my life too?? Peter knew that he had to stay and that nothing was going to change his mind anymore. Sophie is relieved to hear that news that Peter has decided to stay. Only to uncover a bigger surprise as Peter proposed to her.

The stars are shining in the sky as Scott and Shelby look at each other across the field. Shelby approaches Scott slowly. They stare into each others eyes and kiss. A deep and obviously very meaningful kiss. She then lays her head on his shoulders as he holds her in closer. This is all happening while they play the song ?I'll Be? by Edwin McCain which I thought fit the ending perfectly.
